One of the oldest crafts in the municipality of Mértola is weaving wool blankets. The decorative motifs on Mértola blankets have influences on the Islamic past.

Eines der ältesten Handwerke in der Gemeinde Mértola ist das Weben von Wolldecken. Die dekorativen Motive auf Mértola-Decken haben Einflüsse aus der islamischen Vergangenheit. Basierend auf hochwertigen Rohstoffen verwenden sie traditionelle Produktionstechniken und antike Dekorationsthemen, die in Decken, Teppichen, Socken, Hüten und anderen Gebrauchs- oder Dekorationsgegenständen vorkommen.
