Fluviário de Mora

The Fluviário de Mora is a public aquarium dedicated to freshwater ecosystems, privileging the knowledge and importance of its biodiversity, and its relationship with humanity. It is located in the Ecological Park of Gameiro, parish of Cabeção, municipality of Mora. Consisting of a set of aquariums and surrounding spaces, the Fluviário de Mora allows you to observe different species of fauna and flora that occur in rivers and lakes. The exhibition galleries of Fluviário de Mora are organized by biotipes. Through the exposure of habitats along the path of a river – paradigm of an Iberian river – from the source to the mouth, and sea, it is possible to get to know several species of rivers in Portugal, including some Iberian endemisms.  In the gallery of exotic habitats, it is possible to discover species from the Amazon River basin, the Great African Lakes of the Rift Valley, among others.
