Praias Fluviais
Herewith we are starting a new series, this time about Praias Fluviais (freshwater bathing beaches), which is primarily intended for our members in the interior of the country.
We only list Praias that have minimum facilities such as sanitary facilities and, if possible, a picnic area. In addition, there are others that are definitely worth a visit because of their scenic beauty!
PRAIA FLUVIAL DE CAVEZ

For those who have not yet explored the district of Braga, here you will find the Cavez River Beach, located more precisely in Cabeceiras de Basto.
This beach is set in an incredible natural landscape, at the mouth of the Ribeira de Moimenta, where it meets the River Tâmega.
This is the ideal place if you want to spend a fun day with your friends or family. Here you will find a large picnic area, toilet facilities and a beach bar.
This leisure area is managed by the Cavez Clube de Caça e Pesca (Cavez Hunting and Fishing Club). In 2000, a sport fishing track was created, covering approximately 3 kilometres.
Wir beginnen hier eine neue Serie, diesmal über Praias Fluviais (Süßwasserbadestrände), die vor allem für unsere Mitglieder im Landesinneren gedacht ist. Wir führen nur Praias auf, die eine Mindestaustattung wie z.B. sanitäre Einrichtungen und möglichst auch einen Picknickplatz haben. Darüber hinaus gibt es noch weitere, die wegen ihrer landschaftlichen Schönheit auf jeden Fall auch mal einen Ausflug lohnen!
Für diejenigen, die den Bezirk Braga noch nicht so gut kennen, gibt es hier den Flussstrand von Cavez, genauer gesagt in Cabeceiras de Basto.
Dieser Strand liegt in einer unglaublichen Naturlandschaft, ganz in der Nähe der Mündung des Ribeira de Moimenta in den Rio Tâmega.
Dies ist der ideale Ort, um einen unterhaltsamen Tag mit Ihren Freunden oder Familie zu verbringen. Er verfügt über einen großen Picknickplatz, sanitäre Einrichtungen und eine Strandbar. Dieser Bereich wird vom Cavez Clube de Caça e Pesca (Jagd- und Angelverein Cavez) verwaltet. Im Jahr 2000 wurde ein etwa 3 Kilometer langer Sportangelplatz angelegt.
PRAIA FLUVIAL DE VERIM

The parish of Verim, belonging to the municipality of Póvoa de Lenhoso, is home to the Verim River Beach on the banks of the Cávado River. It has been awarded the Praia Acessível – Praia para Todos (Accessible Beach – Beach for All) flag for three consecutive years.
It therefore meets the necessary requirements for limited mobility and accessibility. In addition to this recognition, it has been awarded the Praia de Ouro award by Quercus for the second consecutive year due to the excellent water quality at this location.
During the summer season, it is very popular with locals and tourists alike due to its fantastic leisure facilities. The beach has a bar where you can enjoy a fantastic view over the Cávado River. Other facilities include a car park and prefabricated wooden buildings for beach support with lifeguard floats. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy a game of volleyball on the court there.
Die Gemeinde Verim, die zum Kreis Póvoa de Lenhoso gehört, beherbergt am Ufer des Flusses Cávado den Flusstrand von Verim. Er wurde bereits drei Jahre in Folge mit der Flagge Praia Acessível – Praia para Todos (Barrierefreier Strand – Strand für alle) ausgezeichnet, weil er die erforderlichen Anforderungen an Barrierefreiheit und Zugänglichkeit erfüllt.
Darüber hinaus wurde er von Quercus bereits zum zweiten Mal in Folge aufgrund der ausgezeichneten Wasserqualität als Praia de Ouro ausgezeichnet. Im Sommer wird er aufgrund seiner fantastischen Freizeitmöglichkeiten sowohl von Einheimischen als auch von Touristen gerne besucht. Der Strand verfügt über eine Strandbar, von der aus man einen fantastischen Blick auf den Cávado genießen kann. Ein Parkplatz und Holzgebäude für die Strandbetreuung sowie Rettungsbojen sind ebenfalls vorhanden. Sportbegeisterte können auf dem dort vorhandenen Feld Volleyball spielen.
PRAIA FLUVIAL DE ADAÚFE

This beach on the Cávado River is one of the most beautiful in Portugal. A wide variety of sports can be played on the extensive lawns.
It is the only beach in the municipality of Adaúfe to be certified by the Norte Region Water Authority.
The natural beauty of this place, combined with its crystal-clear water, fascinates everyone. In addition to the fantastic waterfalls, there is also a very old mill.
The hiking trails have been improved and there is a sign listing all the prohibitions on the beach, such as campfires, bringing animals, motorcycles, camping, fishing, littering and motorboats. New information boards have also been installed and the diving board has been repaired. You can spend a great day with family or friends.
For the adventurous, there are rocks in this area from which you can dive and even jump into the water. You can also rent slides, pedal boats or canoes and take a very pleasant tour where you can observe the small dams along the route. There are various facilities such as a café, tables for your meals and a car park.
So it’s a great place for barbecues or a simple picnic. The safety of all bathers during the bathing season is ensured by lifeguards. In June, July and August, buses (TUB) run between Avenida Central in Braga and the beach.
Dieser Strand am Fluss Cávado ist einer der schönsten Portugals. Auf weitläufigen Rasenflächen sind verschiedenste Sportarten möglich.
Als einziger Strand der Gemeinde Adaúfe wurde er von der Wasserwirtschaftsbehörde der Region Norte zertifiziert. Die natürliche Schönheit dieses Ortes in Verbindung mit seinem kristallklaren Wasser fasziniert jeden. Neben den fantastischen Wasserfällen gibt es auch eine sehr alte Mühle.
Die Wanderwege wurden verbessert, es gibt ein Schild mit allen Verboten am Strand wie z. B. Lagerfeuer, das Mitbringen von Tieren, Motorräder, Camping, Angeln, Müll auf dem Boden und Motorboote. Außerdem wurden neue Informationstafeln aufgestellt und das Sprungbrett repariert.
Sie können einen tollen Tag mit der Familie oder Freunden verbringen. Für die Abenteuerlustigen gibt es in dieser Gegend Felsen, von denen aus man gut tauchen und sogar ins Wasser springen kann.
Sie können auch Rutschen, Tretboote oder Kanus mieten und eine sehr angenehme Tour unternehmen, bei der Sie die kleinen Staudämme entlang der Strecke beobachten können. Es gibt verschiedene Einrichtungen wie ein Café, Tische für Ihre Mahlzeiten und einen Parkplatz. Es ist also ein großartiger Ort für Grillpartys oder ein einfaches Picknick.
Die Sicherheit aller Badegäste während der Badesaison wird durch Rettungsschwimmer gewährleistet. Im Juni, Juli und August verkehren Busse (TUB) zwischen der Avenida Central in Braga und dem Strand.
