O M|I|MO, Leiria

The m|i|mo – Museum of the moving image – pays homage to photography and cinema, combining art, science and technique. The collections displayed at the museum tell the story of the evolution of cinematography. M|i|mo was founded as part of the celebrations of the hundredth anniversary of Portuguese Cinema (1996).
In 2011, the museum gained recognition from the APOM – Portuguese Association of Museology in the shape of an honourable mention in the category of Best Portuguese Museum.

Das m|i|mo – Museum des bewegten Bildes – ist eine Hommage an die Fotografie und das Kino und verbindet Kunst, Wissenschaft und Technik. Die im Museum ausgestellten Sammlungen erzählen die Geschichte der Entwicklung der Kinematographie. M|i|mo wurde im Rahmen der Feierlichkeiten zum hundertjährigen Bestehen des portugiesischen Kinos (1996) gegründet.
2011 wurde das Museum von der APOM – Portugiesischer Verband für Museologie – mit einer lobenden Erwähnung in der Kategorie “Bestes portugiesisches Museum” ausgezeichnet.
