The magnificent Portuguese marble reaches the whole world, coming from the quarries of Vila Viçosa, Borba and Estremoz. Its superior quality has allowed exploration since the Roman period.
The Marble Museum brings together in a single space the fundamental and outstanding aspects of the extractive industry, from the extraction to the transformation of marble, passing through the presentation of the objects and work tools used.
