Museu dos Cordofones Domingos Machado, Braga/Tebosa

The Cordofones Museum is essentially made up of all the stringed instruments belonging to the personal collection of Domingos Machado, a craftsman from Braga who is well known to collectors of typical instruments and professionals and is mentioned in national and international publications on the subject.

All the cordophones on display were built by him, using the traditional methods handed down to him by his father. The museum houses several collections of stringed instruments: classical violas, guitars, banjos, banjolins, mandolins and typical violas. The most characteristic instruments of the region, such as the cavaquinhos and the violas braguesas, can also be seen here.

Das Cordofones-Museum besteht im wesentlichen aus allen Saiteninstrumenten, die zur persönlichen Sammlung von Domingos Machado gehören. Dieser Handwerker aus Braga ist bei Sammlern typischer Instrumente und bei Fachleuten bekannt und wird in in- und ausländischen Publikationen über dieses Fachgebiet erwähnt. Alle ausgestellten Chordophone wurden von ihm selbst gebaut, und zwar nach den überlieferten Methoden, die ihm sein Vater vererbt hatte.

Das Museum beherbergt mehrere Sammlungen von Saiteninstrumenten: klassische Violas, Gitarren, Banjos, Banjolins, Mandolinen und typische Violas. Auch die charakteristischsten Instrumente der Region, wie die Cavaquinhos und die Violas braguesas, sind hier zu sehen.
